A. 4' , 5 - 5 When Luis Tome came to Oxnard from Madrid, he knew fright awayj that his life would be changed for the next ten months. He entered his Junior year here at Santa Clara, and found Things to be quite differ- ent from his hometown in Spain. Although schools in Madrid are in session for seven to eight hours a day, Luis found the rules and homework requirements to be more strict here. In spite of the unfamiliar setting, Luis managed to make friends very quick- ly. While he was here, he ate pizza for the first time, and went to his first football game. He enjoyed his stay in Oxnard and his time at Santa Clara, but he missed his family and girlfriend at home. When Luis returns to Madrid, he will leave with us a little of the culture of Spain, but he will take with him a slice of our californian style.
