Participation And Growth At Camp Each summer, The cheerleading squad aTTends The UniTed SpiriT Associ- aTion cheerleading camp, which is held aT U.C,S.B. For four days and Three nighTs They spend Time learning new cheers, original ideas for rallies, and cre- aTive ways To promoTe spiriT. CompeTiTions are a major parT of camp, and This year The J.V. and VarsiTy squads did exTremely well. Every ribbon ThaT The J.V.'s won was a superior award: The highesT caTagory possible. The J.V. squad also won a Trophy in This caTagory. The VarsiTy cheerleaders won awards from boTh The excellenT and superior divisions. In Their compeTiTions our cheerleaders proved Their enThusiasm and pride in SanTa Clara. AlThough camp involved hard work and persisTence iT was a Time for S.C. cheerleaders To leT Their winning spiriTs shine.
