Cross Countr Comes Back - This year, afTer a five year absence, Cross-CounTry was revived as a sporT aT SanTa Clara The Team was organized in response To sTrong sTudenT inTeresT and coached by Mr. Tinl Bednar and Ms. Lupe Reyes. The Team was comprised of boTh boys and girls from all fou classes, who gained valuable experience in The Teams inaugural season. The Team parTici- paTed in seven meeTs marked by sTrong individual performances. The runners who had excelled ThroughouT The season were re- warded for Their dedicaTion and abiliTy. On VarsiTy, Mike MaThews received The mosT improved run- ner award, and Jim Cavanaugh was named mosT valuable. On Junior VarsiTy, STeve Sayward and Tracie EasT were The mosT improved runners, and Eileen Co- varrubias was presenTed wiTh The mosT valuable player award.
