The season sTarTed long before The firsT game: iT began over The sum- mer aT fooTball camp, passing league games, and exfensive weighTlifTing ses- sions. WiTh The beginning of Hell Week , The Team had seT Their goals: avenging lasT year's loss To Agoura, win- ning The fronfier league, and evenTuaIly Taking The C.l.F. Championship. The firsT Two games indicafed The power and deTerminaTion of The Team. Two consecTuTive blowouTs againsT ST. Joseph and ST. BonavenTure demon- sTraTed The sainT's sirong defense, and explosive offense. AfTer Their only loss of The season which was To Rio Mesa, The SainTs were once again on The winning Track fired-up and unsToppable. They quickly disposed of Bishop Diego and Carpinieria. Their dominaTion conTinued wiTh vicTories over SanTa Paula, home- coming vicTim Nordhoff, and The disTruc- Tion of Fillmore. The sfage was seT for The showdown beTween The SainTs and Agoura, The defending champs. AfTer a big lead in The game, The defense showed Their sTrengTh by holding The Chargers Twice aT The goalline, Thus capping a 27-24 vicTory. The vicTory ful- filled Two of The Team's goals: a vicTory over Agoura, The firsT in over five years, and a league championship, The firsT in- over fifTeen years. WiTh The lasT regular season win over Calabasas, The SainTs were Tuned up To enTer C.l.F. playoffs in search of Their ulTimaTe goal: The C.l.F. championship.
