These CSF'ers represent the highest scholastic average attainment in our school for the first semester, The top eight percent of our student body is able to obtain the ten points necessary to be a member ofthe California State Scholarship Federation. Officers of the CSF prepare for meeting. They are: Charles Conway, Treasurer, Grace Shima- buku, Secretary, Charles Burnham, Vice-President, Clare Sieland, Historian, and Terrence Fleming, President. 92 Marilyn Reno, Patricia Friedrich, and Mary Condon the tutoring service of the CSF, Y, Four of Santa Clara's high CEEB scorers applied for California State Scholarships and became semifinalists. Latin and Spanish Clubs developcross culture understandings One group of Latin Club members assembles for meeting. Latin Club Members, Paul Howell, Daniel Melott, Patricia Friedrich, Richard Conrad, Terrence Fleming, Karen Zabroski, and Juliana Ward, are showing their gift to the Library. Officers of the Club are: Richard Conrad, Quaestor, Karen Zabroski, Scribag Patricia Friedrich, Censor, and Daniel Melott, Consul. Language clubs strive to break the barrier that causes disunity among peoples. Through the study of foreign language and the culture of peoples they destroy the preiudice unknown to Truly Christian peoples. Science, Sharyn Farrell, Home Economics, Frances Lagomarsino, Mathematics, Charles Conway, History, Yolanda Alvarado, Foreign Languages, Susan Matsumoto, English, and Mary Espinoza, Art, Four semesters lone in the senior yearj of high academic scholarship qualities these students to be lite members of the California State Scholarship Federation. Scholars are: Robyn Adamina, Susan Matsumoto, Jeanne Burn- ham, and Charles Conway. Santa Clara's scholars merit recognition. Rev. Carrol O'Sullivan, Principal, presents Bank of America Trophies to Richard Maulhardt for excellence in the fields at science and mathe- matics and to Jeanne Burnham for outstanding work in liberal arts, Santa Clara has an active chapter of the California State Scholar- ship Federation. In an effort to develop in its members a Schol- arship for Service mentality, it has promoted two intellectual proiects-knowledge bowls with- in the school and between schools in the area, and a tutoring service for students who need extra help. Its publicity efforts to keep the Student Body aware of its mem- bership and the members ot the B-Honor Roll Society have done much to make students learning- conscious.
