Saints' undefeated J.V. team wins the CHAMPIONSHIP. J.V. - '64 CHAMPS Coach Robinson stressed the importance of the team effort given by his group of boys in giving the school an undefeated season and the title. Mike Rich and Mickey Callahan, the assist- ants, must share some of the honor for bringing in such a fine team. Despite a 207, casualty rate the team kept its unbeatable power the whole season. The 230 lb. average defensive line starred big John Ramirez, who also was the number one center. George Garcia was especially noticeable as our best guard. The back- field gave Mr. Robinson's 1-2 punch with the brilliant play of Bob Williams and Tom Parizo. Williams was the season's top scorer. Our thanks and congratulations are due to what their Coach called the finest group of boys l've ever worked with and, certainly, the best Junior Varsity Team to ever represent our school.

The '64-'65 Santa Clara basketball team preserved for the eighth year the tradition of remaining unbeaten in league competition. This year's team and their coach brought the total to 82 straight league wins. The team was led and inspired by three powerful seniors. George Hansen, our leading scorer, was well appreciated for his ability to come down with rebounds. Mike O'Brien's power and fast reactions provided a constant encouragement to his team- mates. Paul Miller was always there with a long shot from the out- side whenever the opposition got rough. Kurt Kenney and Center, Pete Orozco, were the easiest players to spot on the court because of their size. Crowd-pleasing guards, Regi Brazell and Tom Westervelt, gave our games lots of flash. Although our final game at Simi resulted in defeat, our brief stay in AA Classification indicated to everyone what an out- standing team we had. Our gratitude and appreciation are extended to our hard- working Coach and team in a mighty well done. i Mike gets up to help George sink-in another basket. Despite the opposition Tim gets those critical points up and in
