Mission High's determined Indians. Nico Escamilla scored two T.D.'s and also kicked two P.A.T.'s. Dan Bodle made the other score on a 24-yard-pass play. It was Dick laquez, however, who saved the day. With just twenty-eight seconds left and the ball on the Saints' 35-yard line, Dick intercepted a Mission pass and ended a desperate attempt by the Indians to produce a victory. Mark Pinedo and Bill Varela played an outstanding game both offensively and defensively. SAINTS BOW T0 NEEIJIES 33-7 S.C. ..,.,.... 0 7 0 0-7 Needles .,....,....... 0 13 0 20-33 A big powerful Needles team proved too much for the Saints. The Mustangs eliminated S.C. in the semi-finals of the CIF playoffs. The Saints did not give up though and somewhat contained the Mus- tanges for three periods. Nico Escamilla scored the only Saint touchdown midway through the second quarter. The defeat gave the Saints a final record of nine wins and one loss. Ray Curtis clears the way as Nico Escamilla gains 10 yards in SC-Needles CIF semifinal clash,
