Going into C.l.F. competition, the Saints fought off a fine San Luis Obispo Mission team for a hard-earned 20-14 victory but lost to a powerful eleven from Needles. Seven players from the '58 squad obtained all-league honors and two, Nico Escamilla and Mark Pinedo, were named to the all-C.l.F. team.
