Mendillo Inspires Spirit in '67 ASB Although he already represented SBHS in his junior year through his participation in, Legislature and varsity sports, Mark Mendillo hoped to extend his interests and services as ASB President. After a hard fought cam- paign, Mark's main interest in office was to work closely with the entire Student Body. He initiated a Summer Activities Committee which supplemented the Student Body funds. He was also in- strumental in the organization of the Lettermanis Club and open student caucus meetings where students could discuss school problems directly with the ASB officers. In addition, Mark wrote columns which often were pub- lished in the Forge. Mark demonstrated his leadership qualities in phases of school life other than student government. He was a member of the varsity football team as well as the varsity baseball team. Also, his extracurricular interests were shown in his membership in Key Club and the Letterman's Club. Mark reveals his future in his hopes to attend Annapolis and perhaps become a naval officer. Mark considered it to be an honor to be president of Santa Barbara High School.
