In Memoriam We, the Senior Class of 1966, in memory of our close friend and classmate, Stephen Baker, dedicate the 1966 Golden Warrior in his honor. The high ideals and sense of achievement that Stephen stood for should be what each of us strives for through- out life. We are sure that as we each goour separate ways, the memory of Stephen will live as a bright light shining down the paths of our future.

Superintendent’s Message Some material things depreciate with age, but you will find your Golden Warrior will become more valuable as the years go by. It will serve as a reminder of cherished mem- ories of friends, events, and places. We are thankful that in this free country of ours, we are permitted to become educated to our fullest desire, and are not handicapped by our social backgrounds, beliefs, or economic status. It is our hope that the preparation you received while attending the Sanger Schools will be highly profitable as your life progresses. Sincerely, CB avrtll Wy, Resa Barrett H. Reeves Superintendent Board of Trustees

‘ ,..Glad did I live and gladly die, And I laid me down with a will,’ sys Spirals Re ab As the 1964-65 school year began, the junior class felt that a program should be initiated in memory of Stephen Baker, A schol - arship fund was set up by them to be awarded to a deserving senior boy each year who planned to further his education, Since Stephen was active in sports, certain qualifications were set up, The recipient is to be a letter- man in at least two sports, be of outstanding moral character and have a high scholastic average, Eligible boys are nominated by the faculty, The final choice is made by the coaches with the approval of a committee chosen by that junior class, The members of that committee are Billy Harberson, Robert Howard, Jimmy Peabody, Eddie Romines, and Cal Harberson, The first annual Stephen Baker Scholarship was given to Eddie Romines, As a fitting memorial, the football field was renamed Stephen R, Baker Field and a brick gate, bronze plaque, and sign were erected at the front entrance, We would like to thank all those who devoted their time, effort, and materials to this worthwhile project.
