Senior Class History
The "Class of 81" entered Sandoval High in 1978. Our class sponsors were Mr. Chontofalsky and Mrs. Gibbons.
We elected our class officers: Ron Wood, president, Tracey Sprehe, vice-president, Mel Moore, secretary,
Margarite Lammers, treasurer. As our Student Council members we chose Todd Bosler, David Gore, Holli Hyde
and Julie Jourdan. We did many things our freshman year such as yelling at the pep rallies and working on the
float, "lt's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
In 1979 we became sophomores. We elected our class officers for our sophomore year. They were Todd Bosler,
president, Eddie Koehler, vice-president, Tracey Sprehe, secretary-treasurerg and Margarite Lammers, reporter.
Our Student Council members were Tracey Sprehe, Jennifer Beckmann, David Gore, and Flon Wood. Our class
sponsors were Mrs. Baysinger and Mr. Gambetta. We worked on the float, "Cinderella" Also we ordered our class
rings, and best of all, we were getting our driver permits.
Our junior year was really exciting. Our class sponsors were Mr. Wood and Mrs. Cofer. Officers were chosen as
follows: David Gore, presidentg Tracey Sprehe, vice-presidentg Beth Jourdan, secretary, Ron Wood, treasurer, Beth
Brown, reporter. We also chose our Student Council representatives. They were Missy Hoffmann, Tracey Sprehe,
Flon Wood, and David Gore. We received our class rings in September. Our money-making projects were raffling
cakes at the home ballgames, selling candy bars, and presenting a class play, "Off the Track." All were very suc-
cessful. We also won most of the intramural games with a little help from the Sophomore Class. Chuck Wagon was
the float we worked on this year. Our Junior-Senior prom was filled with exciting moments as the Southern Illinois
Audio played the theme song "Still," The colors were pink and burgundy.
Our last year, we were Seniors. Our sponsors once again were Mr. Wood and Mrs. Cofer. Class officers were
Margarite Lammers, president, Missy Hoffmann, vice-president, Beth Jourdan, secretary, Ron Wood, treasurerg
Theresa Oehmke, reporter. Our Student Council president was Tracey Sprehe and our representatives were Missy
Hoffmann, Jennifer Beckmann, Flon Wood and John Evans. "Love is . . . Sharing" was our float this year. We had
our paper drives, concession stand, sold magazines and fruit, and had a class play for our projects to help us get to
Florida. The juniors had a prom for us this year with Cross Fire playing the theme song. The colors were light and
dark purple and white.
Our graduation was May 29, 1981. We left for Florida in the first week of June.
hThe "Class of 81" would like to thank the administration, faculty, and staff of Sandoval High for helping through
