Tours were the order of the day for this port and crew members and embarked Marines enjoyed tours to Venice, Pisa and Munich, Germany, 400 miles north of La Speeia. The good German beer and hearty Bavarian meals were a welcome change in diet and the scenic attractions of the Bavarian Alps made this one of the most memorable tours offered on the cruise.
