THAT THE SENIORS BUILT As juniors, more and more responsibilities were being placed on us. But we were capable and ready to accept them under the guidance of Rich Critchlow and Rich Hawkins. Money-raising projects were first on our list of activities of the year. We looked forward to the annual Senior Fare- well, and worked hard, but had much fun doing lt. In the party mood, we planned a junior party and held it in the cafeteria. Many of our class- mates received honor and distinguished medals. Other students went out for sports and brought to SRHS an NBL football championship. Soon the year was almost over and students began campaigning for student body offices. This year our football team fought to victory again. The songleaders were composed entirely of junior girls, and we had two representatives on the yell- leading group. f . a W 3 Nik U f to X U . - meh I L in i:2W ' it S Illllf if ti - n f T 3 K. iillllllll le LM- LMAT- Lkaxtw kw ,fl www! bww wi 3 41 -1 Now, as we come to the close of our four years at San Rafael High School, we remember many things that happened here. Pete Siewert was elected Student Body president for the fall term. Our classmates helped us win the NBL cham- pionship in football, again. Many others ran for student body offices in the spring. The Red ,n' White staff, the Searchlight staff and committees took more seniors from our class. Dick Hawkins was elected student body president. Bill Monti was our class president and we started plans for our Senior Ball. Allan Zensius, spring president, helped us fin- ish plans for the Senior Ball. After many commit- tee meetings, we chose the Alta Mira Hotel as the site of the Ball. Now, as we watch the flag-lowering ceremonies on the front lawn we remember many happy days at SRHS. We realize that our four years here have pre- pared us to face the future: college, work, mar- riage, whatever path we may choose. Along life's way will resound thy praise-Hail San Rafael !

THIS IS THE HOUSE Freshmen at San Rafael High School! These were the echoes that rang through our ears during summer vacation. And at last the day comes. Flag raising ceremonies on the front lawn were very impressive. Under the leadership of Rich Critchlow and Rich Hawkins, we sponsored freshman noon ral- lies. The Polio Box Lunch Sale proved to be a starting point for our class. We placed second in the annual sale. As we looked forward to our sophomore year with anticipation, we made plans to carry out during our four years here. A One big event this year was the F rosh Party, which was the basis for our annual class parties, through the years. A W e 'Flaws :see . This year, too, we began to take part in many more school activities. Again, we placed second in the Polio Box Lunch Sale, and the news of this was placed in our paper, the '4Soph Squawkf' Our football team tied in the NBL for first place. Many boys decided to go out for football and other sports. Sophomore girls began to play a large part in sports also-as songleaders! The Variety Show held interest for many of us, too. Sinvinv, dancing and narration, all had D D representatives from the Sophomore Class.
