16' xx' X Z4 Lfjxx- f CLASS PROPHECY Having nothing to do lclxmbed xnto my new car the Davxs wh1ch I designed and had manufactured in Boulder Creek I decided to drive around the unknown city I journeyed to Highland Boulevard where all the people who had made their mxllions hved Drxvxng and enjoymg the scenery I observed a Iamilxar name on X huge estate gate SCHIAPPACASSE ESTATE Sxnce the re was only one narne lzke thxs in the world I knew It must be Frank and was eager to renew the old frxendshlp That mght Frank and I journeyed to Santa Cruz ln his new yacht on the San Lorenzo Rwer On the way to Santa Cruz that evemng I notxced a boardwalk wlth a thousand ar' one llghts Frank explalned that Charles Treadway once a band leader now owned this amusement center Further down the r1ver we passed un der a huge bridge that connected the east and west sxdes ofthe clty Ilearned that Don Folk was the engmeer of the brxdge The next evening Frank and I went to d1nner at the Basm Street Dxning Room an open axr duung room sxtuated under the redwoods None other than Anne Spencer could own thxs beautxtul place jazz sxnger was to appear in the qomedy Sally After all the excltement we retlred to his home I bought a paper tha evening and relaxxng ln one oi the beautxfully upholstered chaxrs began readxng lt It was named the Ryan Txmes none other than our classmate Clarence Ryan owned th1s paper The headlmes read MAJOR REILY TO VISIT WASHINGTON D C I read this artxcle and sure enough it was our Irxsh class presxdent On the next page there was an artlcle about a new nxght club that was to open m the cxty It s name was the CROWBAR owned by Beverly Massey She wasnt doxng bad for herself be cause just below the artzcle there was a pxcture of Beverly Massey and Jun Roe sxgnzng a contract of partnershxp for the night spot There was one classmate that I remembered not seemg so I asked Frank about her He told me that Ruby McAll1ster was the manager of Woolworth Department store zn this cxty 42 899 L ML' fff FWQ al M.
