Miss Vera Jansen Oeolcatlon Miss Vera Jansen, who has worked for San Leandro High School as bofh Vice Principal and Dean of Girls for I5 years, will be refiring fhis year. Miss Jansen has been an acfive and helpful Dean of Girls: sfudenfs can counf on her fo affend all funcfions, such as foofball games, baskefball games, plays, and dances, faking much inferesf in every sfudenf. She has confribufed long hours of pafience and under- sfanding while in charge of many of our more imporfanf funcfions, such as 'rhe graduafion rehearsals. Miss Jansen graduafed from fhe Universify of California af Berkeley in I926. Her firsf year of feaching was complefed in Willows, Cali- fornia, she lafer faughf in Marfinez, Tracy, and Sequoia, where she 'laughf physical educafion and counseled sfuclenfs. From Sequoia she fhen came +o San Leandro High, where she accepfed fhe posifion of Vice Principal, lafer fo become our presenf Dean of Girls. Even fhough being fhe Dean of Girls is a fhankless iob, Miss Jansen has furned if info a very rewarding posifion. She sfill converses wifh many of her pasf sfudenfs, some whom mighf nof have graduafecl buf for her encouragemenh sfudenfs find her a sympafhefic lisfener, and offen receive her sfrong supporf defermining fheir goals.
