They workeil ana' plannezl to- gether, making every projeet a huge sureess. During their Sophomore year they plannerl all types of aetiifities. Among the first was their Sallie Hawkins skit in the spring of 1957. The elass' selection of Barry Harherson ami Kathie Hansen as Lil Abner anel Daisy Mae took thira' plaee in the eontest. In their H-IO semester the most inemorahle event of that era was their pienie which was en- joyea' hy all. The fall of 1958 fame ahout fast, anal it was time for their junior prom. Their theme was Somewhere In the Night uniler the eoehair- manship of Mary jo Ahaseal ami Linfla Montanelli. The nzany hours of planning ana' work surely paia' of as it was a lovely prom, one of whieh the whole elass was prourl. Wheri Septenzher 1959 rlownell they siulrlenly realizerl they were Seniors. The magic' worit they hail for so long alreamerl. Sinee no nzoney-making activities were allowea' lluring a elass' H-12 semester, the elass set about to make money to support the expenses of their fabulous aml memor- ahle H-12 year. Before they knew it they were the high ana' nzightiesf' Their first activity of fall 1959 was their pienie at Adobe Creek Lodge whieh turnea' out to he a terrife a'ay. Dinner at the Room of the Dons, in the Mark Hopkins Hotel of San Franeiseo, was the site for their Senior dinner. Again this was a memorable oerasion and fun for everyone. january 15 was the selected a'ate for the Senior hall. The theme was Exotiea,' under the eoehair- inanship of jane Grego and Elree Hogue. The Gold Room of the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley was the seene of the after-the-.hall party. Both affairs were truly fahulous. The main event of the january 1960 class took plaee january 28th-graduation. That event was looked forwara' to, hut when the aetual moment took place, with the diploma plaeea' in their left haml ana' a hamlshake with their right, a few tears Jill glisten. After the ejjeetizfe ceremony took place a party was put on hy the parents for the graduates. L A X , The june 1960 class, the largest class that has graduated, will always have many memories of their three years at San Leandro High. During their Sophomore year they had many money- mahing activities, all to earn enough money for their picnic. Their main activity was a car wash which made nearly 8I00.00. In May was their never-to-he- forgotten picnic held at Roherts Area. In their junior year. the class of june 1960 was husy earning money as usual. They sold cokes at foot- hall games, had snow cone sales at lunch and another famous car wash. In their H-I1 year was the time for their spectacular junior prom. The theme was Polynesian Paradise under the cochairmanship of Nancy Doah, Lana Da1non, Michele Accker, and Lorraine Cooper. It was a huge success and acclaimed terrific hy everyone. During the classes H-I2 year they started off with their Senior assernhly. It never did receive a title hut turned out to he very original and enjoyed hy all. A 1' Their next activity was the Senior hall which had heen looked forward to ever .since the class first came to SLHS. The theme was Bali Ha'i', under the co- ehairmanship of P5171 Munns and Indy Wright. The after-the-hall party was held at the Claremont Hotel in the Garden Room in Berkeley. The whole ajair was just like a dream to everyone. With' the heautiful clothes and decoration, to delicious food and good hands, the evening was truly fahulous. During Senior week the Seniors had their picnic at the National Country Cluh. Of course everyone had a wonderful time and the country eluh was just heautiful with its huge swimnzing pool and facilities. Some were happy and some were not, hut gradua- tion jinally came.
