rezierue Qui' ,Nerifage The printing of this book has been a privilege, an inherited privilege, inherited from the found- ers of our nation, from the men who have fought to preserve it, and from those who are fighting now for world peace. How many of us who have radios and tele- vision sets, who worship God in our own ways, who are educated in public schools, and who enjoy all the privileges of a free nation ever ask ourselves why we have these privileges or give thanks for them? lt has taken hard Work and cooperation to build and to keep this nation free. Compromises have had to be made by persons with different ideas. People have had to work together with one aim in vieweto get the job done. They have, in many cases, had to dis- regard their own wants to produce something that is desirable for all. Throughout this book, we have tried to show that cooperation lay behind all events: that we, in high school, by Working peacefully with our fellow students and teachers,.are able to pro- duce a desirable end. Let this, then, be our way of lifewto under- stand our fellow man, to compromise, and to cooperate so that we may preserve the 'privi- leges that we have inherited and live in a peace- ful world.
