It should be mentioned that three players made San Jose All- City Basketball Honors. Center Bill Long, Forward Steve Gu- tierez and Nash Pinon, a second year guard. The outstanding team of the Santa Clara Valley, if not of Northern California, was the 1956 Tech Lightweights. The team record of 13 wins and 4 losses does not begin to tell the story of a hard working group of basketball players. The, starting team of Larry Parara, Ruben Carrillo, George King, Bill Osborne and Manuel Sanchez displayed outstanding ball. Further tribute was paid to Parara, Carrillo and Sanchez when they were named to the San Jose All-City Basketball Team. Sports
