Extension Service San Jose State College offers a wide range of olf-campus courses in Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties as well as parts of Alameda County. Many courses provide college cred: it and serve the needs of teachers, business people, and various lay and professional groups. All classes must meet minimum enrollment numbers -differing as to location of the class -in order to continue beyond the first meeting. The services of the Extension Division are available to school systems or other groups for the or- ganization of regular or special courses and workshops. Course dates need not conform to regular semes- ter periods and can be initiated at any time. Courses are usually offered for two or three semester units.
