Dr. Wahlquisf came +0 San Jose S+a+e in I952. ending +he suspenseful period in which +he campus awaifed news as +0 who would succeed Dr. T. W. MacQuarrie. Dr. Wahlquisf came +0 San Jose S+a+e from his posf as dean of +he Col- lege of Educafion and professor and head of +he Depar+men+ of Educa- +ional Adminisfrafion a+ Universify of Utah. He is +he au+hor of numer- ous na'rionally recognized +ex+books such as The Philosophy of American Educafion and The Adminis+ra+ion of Public Educa+ion . Much of Dr. Wahlquisf's +ime as presidenf of San Jose S+a+e College has been devo+ed +0 meefing wi+h Iegislafors in Sacramen+o +0 advance +he cause of building needs for +he college. and +0 urge a more flexible policy +oward enrollmenf ceilings for +he fufure. Dr. Wahlquis+ became presiden+ of San Jose S+a+e College af a crucial +ime in HS development and has clearly shown +ha+ +he adminis+ra+ion of +he college is in capable hands.
