Munsinger was born in Los Molinos, California, and graduated from Chico State College prior to entering the Navzd krvice in September 1958. He was commissioned an Ensign in January 1959 through the Aviation tifticer Can- didate program and designated a Naval Aviator in July 1960. Captain Munsinger had several axiation assign- ments including with V.-NW-l l. VAW-1212, and VA- 97 flying the A7 Corsair Two.
