Upon completing our first swing we returned to Subic Bay where we spent a few days making minor repairs, resupplying our holds and catch- ing up on some liberty time. Since our goal has always been to deliver only the best to our customers, perishables, fresh milk and ice cream were quickly loaded. Fully loaded we returned to sea for our second arduous line swing. lt was during the second line period our two helos were grounded until their rotor blades received a safety check at NAS Cubi Point. Without the use of our helos every ship must be CONREPPED, a demanding evolution for all hands. For the next few days we were virtually sleepless. Replenishments were continuous for almost 20 hours a day. There were 23 personnel trans- ferred via Manila Highline. Everyone worked overtime, the galley was open practically around the clock and a roving gee-dunk patrolled the main deck serving fruit, soda and sandwiches to those unable to leave their sta- tions. , 30
