Presidents-Kathryn Lindauer and jim Leong Student-body presidents, Kitje and Jim, are two very popular people at S.j.M. Alert, serious, and active, they carry out their numerous duties cheer- fully and efficiently. Kitje still has time to be sec- retary of the North Shasta League and a member of the Pep Girls. jim is also a member of the N.S.L. and a top-ranking member of the C.S.F. so ta Student Council-Kathy Behm, Suzanne Snead, Michael O'Meara, Ann Marie Yribarren, Judy Yee, Kathryn Lindauer, Brother Edwin fModeratorJ, Roy Giovanni, jeanne Allard, Charles Colby, Judie Cleary, Phyllis Ten- scher, Bernie Renna, Bill McLeod-organization leaders. One of the imoprtant organizations at San Joa- quin is the student body government. In function- ing the Student Council makes those decisions pertinent to the well-being of the student life. Representing the students, this council plans and regulates the many activities which help stimulate school spirit. The class presidents, the heads of the various major organizations and the student body oliicers form the council under the direction of the principals of both departments. Student

Officers of the Mothers' Club who are enjoying the Tea are Mrs. Massucco, Mrs. Schoettler, Mrs. Dalenu, Mrs. Deaile, Mrs. Harley. S.-l.M. Glee Club sings the afternoon of the Tea. Mothers' Club Principal project of the San Joaquin Mothers' Club is the purchase of new books for the school library. Because of the successful efforts of the members, many new volumes have been placed in circulation during the past year, Other activities of this group include the sup- port of the Speech Organization and wel- fare work. Brother George, smiling, re- laxes after his excellent lec- ture at the Tea given for the library fund. Council Included also in the work of the Student Coun- cil are the planning of the activity program, de- signing student cards, interpreting the Fine points of the Constitution, taking care of the student court, and representing at any Fresno meet- ing of high school students. Vice-President Bob Morales and Secretary Jeanne Allard Active but quiet and reserved, Bob and Jeanne are well-liked by the student body and have fun being officers. They take their duties seriously. Both are excellent students and capable leaders.
