6... FUHEIE MISSIU SHIIIETY This Society is organized to give Material and financial aid to the Missions conducted by the Christian Brothers. For this purpose drives are held in the school for clothes and books Brother Malachy, Moderator and Phil Lips, Chairman. to send to the Missions. This year a special drive was held For the Brothers' School in Sendai, Japan. The response ot the Student Body was excellent as witness the picture on the left of this page. Also included in the program of the Foreign Mission Society are the Holy Childhood collections. During Lent contributions were made to assist the work of the Missionary Priests in the Orient. THE MARIAN YEAR COMMITTEE The Living Rosary was recited in the Brothers' Chapel. Weekly Recitation ofthe Rosary by the Boys' Student Body. MAHIAN YE H CUM ITTEE ln response to the Holy Fathers' proclamation of the Marian Year, the Boys' Student Body organized a Mar- ian Year Committee for the purpose of special devo- tions to the Holy Mother of God. Weekly recitation of the Rosary, special eiaculations, shrines, and the Living Rosary were all a part of the devotion. As a special Feature the classes held cake sales and made small collections to purchase a statue of the Immaculate Conception which will be erected in honor of the Holy Mother ot God in this Her Marian Year. Congratulations are certainly in order for the wonder- ful support given to this Committee by the entire Stu- dent Body.

'ri att Father Vasquez congratulates Phil Lips, Chair- man, for the success of the Christmas Baskets drive while Brother Malachy, Moderator, looks on. The primary purpose of this organization is to unite in a prayerful crusade for good Vocations to the Priesthood and the Religious Life. A Novena is held each month from the l6th to the 25th for this intention. The Boys Student Body assists at a Mass on the 25th. Another proiect of this organization is the annual Christmas Baskets for the poor. This year the drive was a tremendous success. Father Tapia said Mass on the 25th of each month for good vocations.
