X sf Y r-. ROTC BALL The International Room of the El Cortez was the site of this year's R.O.T.C. Ball, held March 4. All city schools that have R.O.T.C. units: San Diego, Hoover, Point Loma, Kearny, Madison, and Craw- ford, were represented. During the year the R.O.T.C. unit of each school elects a queen and two at- tendants from the student body. The queens and attendants are presented at this annual ball with the officers of their respective units for their escorts. San Diego's queen, Jinny Martinez, is shown being escorted through the ceremonial arch of sabers by Eugene Yee. After the presentation the traditional Queen's Waltz was played. The Ball is a joint effort each year. Two cadets from each school meet to form the Cadet Club Council that plans the Ball far in advance to insure an enjoyable evening. M 1 ,. v - n ,ga -. z X' SERGEANETTES BALL A K 'f My f W ., 5 Vx, ,, , Y , , , QW VAT' Jane Martin 'tx Attendant is if Sylvia Alcaraz Attendant Aww Queen Stella Macias This year the Sergeanettes' Ball was held at the Balboa Park Club where the music of the soulful Dimensions was enjoyed by everyone in attend- ance. Moonlight and Music, the theme chosen, depicted the mood of the occasion. The highlight of the evening came as President Joan Crawford announced the i966-67 King and Queen, Jose Diaz and Stella Macias. Next year's colonel, Mar- iorie Lassen, was also presented with the other Sharon Clark officers. Junior Duchess Frances Symons Senior Duchess !
