X I euage or the Zfearhvle Although it may seem to many people that all graduating classes are similar in most ways, we who work closely with you feel that each group of seniors has an individuality and succeeds in particular ways. Academically there have been some outstanding achievements by some of your classmates, and on the whole an improved seriousness of purpose has been shown by your class. You have been co-operative, pleasant, and friendly with fellow students and teachers. I feel that your good citizenship has led to a fine general morale on the campus. Your class leadership both by students and faculty sponsors has been strong and has resulted in successful activities. Certainly the over-all school activity accomplishments have been outstand- ing. In your three years at San Diego High School, about one in four of your classmates has dropped out of school to pursue some other activity. That ratio of drop-outs, high as it may seem, has been fairly consistent the past few years. We wish to express appreciation to the Gray Castle staff for their conscientious and, excellent work. Many of us do not realize the number of hours that go into the production of such a fine yearbook. I am sure that I join with alI.the members of our staff in commend- ing you graduates and wishing you the best of everything in the years that are ahead. Lawrence W.
