In these days of skepticism the Bible De- partment endeavors to stand as a fortress of truth among our young people and to train them as able defenders of this stronghold. MILLIE ADAMSON Spanish, History, Home Arts If it were possible to separate the Spanish language from the speech of Americans many of our common words would be lost. Some of our states and many of our cities would have to be renamed. A policy of learning the language of our near neighbors is good judgment and what fun we have deciphering it! Our students who are. learning to read, write and speak the Spanish language have a double opportunity to enjoy music, art, crafts, customs, and costumes. At some later time this knowledge of Spanish might be the way to others at home or in foreign service. MR. W. A. DAVIS Vocations Working with the hands is a very practical side of the education of youth. Each young man needs to learn some of the uses and advantages of mechanical drawing and woodworking. This is the goal of the department. M QW
