According to Dan Snipes, the president of the Sailing Club, We are teaching the basic fundamentals of sailing to anyone interested in learning them. That was precisely what the 1970-71 Sailing Club did. Involved in several campus activities, the club sponsored sailing races to all those in- terested in getting into the competition. Giving the orders to the rest of the crew were Dan Snipes, captain; Kitty Hall, first mate; Sue Rosoff, second mate; and Tom Morris, third mate. Members Learn Astronomy the According to Mr. Webster, Astronomy is, The scientific study of the universe beyond the earth and that is exactly what took up most of the time of the active and studious Astronomy club. E 3 5y W ay In January, members of this club took pictures of four planets and an astroid all in the same morning, and sent copies to Sky and Tele- scope Magazine. the experiment was quite successful. The fourteen exuberant students were advised by Mr. Schwenn, and hoped to teach students an easy way to learn astronomy and to understand the various facets of the study.
