4:.x v HTIAd WML. .x. .n- 4----- last Varsity Basketball This year's basketball team under Coach John Baker had five guards, six for- wards, and one center. The guards were Craig Anderson, Pete Sellers, Rick Bauer, Steve Cope, and Carlos Luna. The forwards were Chris Ellinor, Steve Peter, How- ard Valore, Dave Sharke, Brad McCaslin, and John Allavie. The center was Steve Kalota. In non-league play San Clemente's record for the year was outstanding, in- cluding wins over several high ranked teams. But the league play was not up to expectations. Considered to have a good chance at the league championship, the team ran into stiff competition and a lot of bad luck. With several overtime losses and one or two point defeats, the Tritons chances looked slim. With the loss to Katella in a In the middle of the season, at Orange High School, during a very close game, the excitement mixed with an extremely small gym, pro- duced a fight after the game. Al- though the blame was never officially established the fight marred the basketball season. Another unfortunate reason for a couple of the losses was an epi- demic of bronchitis and the flu which swept over our school.
