Tritons Greatest Season Ever Using a well balanced team of Class Bee and Cee swimmers, the 1970 Triton Varsity swam to a most impressive season ever. The Varsity finished 2nd in the league during the 1968-69 season, and the 1970 season proved even more outstanding record wise. The outstanding swimming league honors went to sprinters Alan Fleming and Tim Springer, and distance honors went to the trio: Joel Hartman, Randy Smithers, and Corby Lloyd. The backstroke and butterfly strokes were dominated by the ex- ceptional efforts of Chris Broughton, Art Scheele, Mark McCartin and Gary Burris. Senior Corby Lloyd, Junior Randy Smither, and Freshman Mark McCartin garnered the most points ever for the varsity swimmers at SCHS. The Tritons look forward to 1971 with the largest Freshman and Sophomore turnout in the history of the school. Var31ty Flyman Art Scheele wms again.
