The Thalassa theme this year, HWhat are my directionsiPH, is a Challenging theme. It is also a very personal question which each person must answer for himself. Viktor Frankl wrote in his book Mans Search for Meaning, H Everything can be taken away from man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms e to choose ones atti- tude in any given set of circumstances, to choose oneis own way. This statement has great significance. We as human beings have great latitude in determining our directions. We are not fully condi- tioned and pre-determined. We can either stand up to the conditions and Challenges that face us each clay or we can give in to them. We can make commitments to life or make none and thus allow fate to determine our outcomes.
