Before I came to the United States, I thought that American people were very different from Chilean people, but I was amazed when I discovered that people are people all over the world. This year in the U.S. has been for me a great experience, some- thing that I will never forget. I'm taking with me a little piece of you that I will make greater and greater all my life. I don't have words to thank both the teachers and students at San Carlos High who always gave me their understanding and friendship. I will remember you with love and respect, and if any of you go to Chile you know that you will find me there. I will try to give you the same love, friendship, and understanding of my coun- try and people that you kindly gave to me, 9 ' 5,1 fifcl, VC,c'2!Z,zrLQ1L Cecilia Larenas A.F.S. Soon I'll be back in my hometown in Germany, but you can imagine, it won't be easy for me to leave all of you. San Carlos has become a second home for me. I will never forget things like being a cheerleader in a football game, and all the different clubs, dances, and parties I attended. My whole year here was a year of pleasure and excitement. Unfortunately, the year was much too short. But all this wonderful year wouldn't have been possible without you - the girls and boys of San Carlos High. And I would like to thank you so much for everything-for your under- standing and help. You can be sure, I'll never forget you. In fact, I'll see many of you again in the near future, when I come back to San Carlos. Auf Wiedersehen WM Roger Beck A.F.S. Exchange Student Nordhorn, Germany fl le,
