The 3rd Division maintains the boat deck mooring stations 3, 4, 5, 8 6 and the ships boats including two LCM-6 craft for transporting repair parts and weapons to ships of the fleet. These men have 2 large cranes which dominate the ship capable of lining 30 tons. Two smaller cranes travel the length of the ship on their own tracks delivering needed repair parts and supplies for FAT SAM or ships nested under our care alongside.
