Pep rcillies keep spirit shining on Ok, Sound oft seniors! Victory, victory is our cry, that's the senior battle cry. The pep rallies gave classes a chance to prove how good their spirit was. Those yelling loudest became owners ot the spirit stick Assuming roles ol Hee-Haw characters, the Texorcist, the Flintstones, and Dudley Do-Right were the cheerleaders, obliging teachers, and the bellguards. The first Homecoming pep rally, to be held on a Saturday, hosted the largest crowd ever. QAJ Gayle Gansert retlects the spirit ol Big Sam Texans. KBJ These cards are marked. Mickey Mice finally eorn Texan spirit Sing you sophomore. Not 'til you catch me. And so, a not yet Texan took off with seniors soon after him. All right! Another Howdy Day seen at Sam. Oh, how we pitied those sophs! They thought they were in for a simple assemblyg ha, little did they know. If only they had taken the chance to skip. But it was too late now and wishing didn't help. Junior thoughts were Revenge, revenge, revenge! The idea of initiating the small mice sounded great. After what they went through last year, anything sounded good until . . . Seniors came along to put' juniors back in their place. Weren't they lucky? They could get anyone to sing. Ah, but we will all have our chance at being top studs during this fantastic tradition . . . Howdy Day. QAJ Jeff Smith proudly portrays the sophs' hero - Mickey. QBJ Some find there's safety in numbers. QQ Pam Hindman and Jaye Prickett pounce on an unsuspecting sophomore.
