After starting in de fall of 1943 with 22 members we finally made it thru eighth grade with an enrollment of 27. As we went on to High School and survived Freshman initiation we took a deep breat' and looked aroun1 to fin', John Goins, Winona Goins, Marvin Howard, James and Gordon West and Billy Mays were no longer wit' us. But dere was Arthur Price, Helen Ablen, Rowena Sanders, Betty Linneman, Ona Mae Meyer, Ivan Gessllng, and Janice Bartholomew jlned up agin. As we went hurdlin' into de sophomore year, Arthur Price, and Helen Ablen left de ranks. De basketball team made history up and down and on boaf sides of de ribber dis year. In de Junior year we wuz so money-minded makin money for de Junior-Senior banquet and prom, we done hardly had time to welcome some mighty fine new members-Laura Ann Ratliff, Glenn Selby, Charles Hoffman and Marilyn Phillips. We did see dat Joe Baugh, Ona Mae Meyer and Billy Preston warn't no longer wit’ us. At las' by a series of unprecedented miracles, and unceasin' scholastic labors(?), we is arrived at the senior year from whence all is viewed wit scorn approachin' contempt-in udder words we is on the verge of commutin' graduation. James Wolfe enlisted in this project, Glenn Selby and Betty Linneman resigned and Sammy Green left for Uncle Sam's big project, but Sammy will earn his diploma with de udder members of dis most illustrious, mos' worthy(?), extraordinary(?), talented(?), high-powered, super-sonic set of scholastic morons. Nobody Knows De Trouble We Have Seen. 17
