The Girl's Glee Club, Boy's Glee Club, and small Mixed Ensembles have all taken part in the Christmas Concert last December and in the music contest at Madison, South Dakota this spring. The Girl's Glee Club, which consists of twenty-eight girls, received a second rating at the spring music contest, The selections which they sang were entitled HCloudsn and HThe Children's Irayeru. This year at the srring music contest at ieadle College ini Nadison, South Dakota, the Soy's Glee Club won top honor by receiving a superior rating, the also appeared in the Grand concert on the evening of April . The two :selections which they sang at the contest were entitled HClimbing Up The Vountain Childrenn and nThat Good Does A Long Face Don. The members of the Brass Sextet are: Vivian Dewey, Dorthy Teterson, Ertis Osterberg, Jerry Forster, Jeanne Anderson, Carl White The members of the Trombone Cuartet are: Vivian Dewey, Irene Goldhammer, Kenneth Marquardt, Eleanor Grapes ' C The members of the Saxaphcne Quartet are: Orville Triebwasser, Wayne Weld, Jean Schimmel, Carol Knudson The members of the Mixed Quartet are: Ertis Osterberg, Eleanor Graves, Verla Nielson, Monte Hart, fLu1eanne Larson-Pianist? The members of the Girl's Sextet are: Carol Knudson, Donna Erickson, Verla Nielson, Vivian Dewey, Mary Ienneman, Luieanne Larson The members of the Boy's Octet are: Wilton Anderson, Vernon Pearson, Jerry Forster, Philip Raue, Ponte Hart, Ertis Osterberg, Narlowe Anderson, Charles Gough The vocal groups are directed by Miss Marion Schroeder of Miller, South Dakota, This is her second year of 'teaching in Salem. Due to her pleasing personality and radiant smile, Miss Schroeder has become a favorite with the student body. Mr. Solomon Koth has been directing the Salem Band ' for six years and has succeeded through much effort and hard work to produce one of the outstanding bands in the state. Nr. Kcth is orignally a resident of Bismark, North Dakota. 15
