A total ot nineteen credits is necessary for graduation. The class council, composed of representatives from each home room, has planned all the activities tor the class ot '50. Included among these this year were the senior dinner held before the Thanksgiving Festival and a tull-length movie, You're My Everything, presented to the entire student body. With a grade point average well above the usual, class members have become eligible in nationwide competition for numerous scholarships. Senior Class Officers and Council Plan A familiar sight last fall was this group of senior boys picnicking on the front lawn. If this picture had been snapped a few minutes later, the informal lunch- eon club undoubtedly would have been caught napping, waiting until the 12:40 buzzer called them unwillingly back to classes. left: Because of the strong rivalry be- tween Salem and Astoria, Salem's Mayor Elfstrom and Astoria's Mayor Eaton offer a rotating cup to the win- ning football team of each year. Mayor Elfstrom is shown here awarding this cup to Senior Jim Rock, captain of the football team, after a 26-6 Viking vic- tory over the Fishermen. Right: Working very hard to carry out the Thanksgiving theme of the Senior Dinner with pilgrims and turkeys are Tatia Williams, Jerry Siefarth, and Bon- nie Stewart. Winners again of the annual interclass rivalry skits, the Senior girls presented Black Dream. These four devils, Shir- ley Swoboda, Louise Dotten, Sylvia Hastings and Janet Bolt, are panto- miming a clever song called l Don't Care. Page 22
