Industrial Arts Develop Vocational Skills Opening a new field was the first semester graphic arts course in typesetting, letter- press printing, silk screen printing, bookbinding, and photography. Advanced cours- es will offer more difficult problems in imposition, lock- up and power press work, plate making and photo en- graving. New equipment includes two power and two hand- lever presses, a proof press, type cabinets, imposing stone, paper cutter, and type valued at three thousand dollars. Boys taking vocational agri- culture learn the scientific way to farm. Through student- owned farm livestock and crop proiects, they learn practical problems of farming, and in the school farm shop students make needed equipment. The Future Farmers of America gives its members greater op- portunities through contest work, demonstrations, and ex- hibition of proiects. Wolgamott Director of Girls' Physical Education Harold Hauk Boys' Physical Education Boys' Physical Education Physical Education Promotes General Health Regular class work includes body conditioning exercises, self-testing activities, develop- ment of sport skills, and com- petitive games. In compliance with require- ments set up by state law, all students physically able par- ticipate in physical education activities. Physical fitness tests are given twice yearly. An intramural sports pro- gram is conducted during noon hours and after school. This includes both individual and team competition. A diversion from the usual gym activities for both boys and girls is eight weeks of folk dancing. Students are giv- en the opportunity to partici- pate in types of folk dancing traditionally characterized by good group spirit and fun. Health classes study disease prevention, nutrition, personal appearance, safety, and first aid. Top: Sixth period girls' gym class takes warm-up exercises.
