RADIO This year the students of the fifth period radio class presented a weekly radio hroadcast under the supervision of Mr. D. A. Rams- dell, puhlic speaking instructor. The half-hour programs, broadcast through the courtesy of radio sta- tion KSIJM, were presented di- rectly from Salem High School. Students of the radio class wrote the scripts, and during the hroad- casts they took over complete di- recting. The purpose ofthe broad- casts was to train the students in radio work and to give the radio audience a glimpse of school life. Some of the outstanding broad- casts were the following: the carol singing at Christmas time, the Spanish program portraying an imaginary trip to Nlexico, the story of heri heri and the cure for scurvy presented hy Nliss Hollenheck's second period hiology class and Miss Wilscin's third period English class, music of the Salem Iligh dance hand, and a debate hetween Salem and McMinnx'ille .high schools on an extended broadcast.
