Led through their final year at ye old Vik Villa by President Arthur Hap Englebart, the class of 1945 brought to a close a highly successful three years of high school. Vice-president Ieanne Foster capably kept up the social affairs and activities of the class. Events were a class banquet, a dance, and a gigantic pencil sale, all of which were climaxed in the spring by the Farewell Banquet, and the Senior Class Farewell Assembly. Carolyn Carson proved a competent secretary. Tom Boardman, as treasurer, managed the various monetary affairs of the class, and Art Gottfried served as sergeant at arms. Preceding his induction into the navy in December, Iim Shawver filled the position of forensic manager. Iacqueline Torgerson was class song queen. Senior class representatives to the A.S.B. Council were Connie Cocking, Ruby Burnham, and Loren Helmhout. From the 576 students enrolled as Sophomores three years ago, the class has dwindled down to a total graduating body of 368. This unusual decreasemay be attributed to the fact that increasing numbers of senior boys have entered our armed services. Serving on the Senior Class Council were Frank Bales, Bill Barlow, Dorothy Boyes, Iim Bradshaw, Don Eastridge, Dessa Lee Holmes, Betty Lou Kayser, Lee Nash, Bob Odle, Leonard Perlich, Ianet Rilea, lack Slater, Patricia Van de Coevering, and Harry Wiedmaier.
