Bennett superintendent of schools The mark of a great school is the character of its students and the leadership of its faculty. ln these respects Salem can be justly proud. When one adds to these the excellent building and equipment of our senior high school, We indeed must recognize our great opportunity and responsibility. We have, however, additional promise in past-War development of minor but important additions to our plant and the development of a splendid athletic field with new grandstands, turf, and lighted field. When these developments are accomplished, Salem will indeed have physical properties affording the best in education. This page represents a department of the school that seems remote from the individual student, and yet, in a sense is closer than many other divisions. The principal, the deans, and the office staff in general see the school as a whole. The keeping of the records, looking after the personal needs of everyone, organizing, encouraging, consoling, helping to plan are some of the multitude of jobs that clear through the office staff.
