Girls League Ojicers Girls League Council The Girls' League, an organization made up of all the girls in Salem High School does much to foster a friendlier relationship among the girls. Officers for l943-44 were Evangeline Mc Kinlay, president, Roberta Rogers, vice president, loan Remington, secretary, Betty Staab, treasurer, Trudie Meier, song leader, Evelyn Meyer, sergeant at arms. Miss Mabel Roberts son, dean of girls, is the adviser. Every year each incoming sophomore is assigned a big sister Who helps her get acquainted with Salem High. Events of the year included the traditional print Week in the spring, and the interclass rivalry programs. The seniors Won with their presentation of Stage Door Canteen. Outstanding among the sophomores is President Pete Hoar, who led the class through a successful year. Cther capable officers were Vice President Harriet Huston, Who planned a well rounded social calendar, Secretary loan Lochead, who kept an accurate account of minutes, and Treasurer Beverly Kenny, lim Loder filled the office oi forensic manager. Song leaders were Barbara and Gloria McClintock and yell leader was Donald Lucas, William Wilson and Allan Bellinger represented the class in the ASB Council. so 5 D The class of '46 began an active year with a sophomore class dinner, February ll. They sponsored a noon dance, a movie on April 27 and an ASB dance on May 5.
