A S B Ojicers . . A S B Council The ASB officers of l943-44 did much to stimulate the students' interest in the War effort. With this thought uppermost in their minds they pledged Sl5,UUO to buy a trainer plane President Travis Cross and his fellow officers deserve a considerable amount of the credit that Salem high received for oversubscribing their quota. Although the war effort was the chief interest, under the leadership of Nancy Montgomery the students of Salem high had a full social calendar and succeeded in making the year a memorable one for the boys who t were joining our armed forces. Martha Weller successfully filled the position of secretary and Forensic Manager Bob Zeller did an excellent job of handling the ticket sales during the year. Dave Getzendaner, our sergeant at arms kept order in assemblies and during the council meetings. Members of the ASB council were as follows: Duke Mankertz, Wilford Beard and Richard Page representing the senior classy Carolyn Carson, Ruby Burnham, and Bob Robins giving their views for the junior classg and Allan Bellinger and William Wilson for the sophomores. .,17..
