N I5 Rom KI I I U MISS Mabel Robertson A dean of girls is the target of many demands She must counsel mdivtdual girls on lOp1CS peculiar to them alone and must stand ready to adv1se them on problems of ehquette dress behav1or and school activities Miss Mabel Robertson our dean of g1rls has not only fulfilled all these dut1es but has also taken an interest in the Girls League and 1n the comfort of the g1rls themselves Bes1des such 1l9I'I'lS as the book exchange and a free telephone her pleasantly furnished office has a medrcme cabinet a seW1ng basket and many other conven 1ences for the g1rls of Salem High School The Offlce Force Perhaps you do not real1ze how indispensable these three are to Salem Hlgh MISS Myrtle McClay and MISS Doris Lun deen are always w1ll1ng to help us 1D any Way poss1ble such as by writing slips g1v1ng mforrnation or doing anyth1ng else that we mlght happen to want The off1ce would seem very un usual wlthout Mlss McClay and although this 1S the f1rst year Miss Lundeen has Worked 1n the ofhce she too seems to be IH terested 1n helping us perhaps because she herself is a graduate of this school There IS one person II1 th1s school whom everybody has learned to love and he IS our Iimmy Nelson Mr Nelson has served in the capacity of registrar this year and has always had a cheerful or helpful Word for everyone who stepped into the office to do business with him. Scuool BOARD S11-KS C Ama The School Board Our parents have chosen this group ot people as repre sentatives to make and to administer the rules ot our school sys tem Under their able direction and leadership we have seen our new Salem High School rise Through this annual we stu dents of Salem High Wish to show our thanks to our school board The members ot this body are Mrs David Wright chair man Mr Percy Cupper Mr E A Bradtield Dr L E Barrick Mr Walter B Mimer and Mr W H Burghardt secretary S1168 Geuser Although he has served tor only tour years as superirw tendent ot the Salem Public Schools Mr Silas Gaiser has during that short period made Salem outstanding in educational ad vantages HIS congenial smiling likable manner has won him friends among students and faculty alike in the schools through out the c1ty Before the new high school was occupied Mr Gaiser made a statement that only one with such a loyal interest in the prog ress of youth could make l hope he said that the students who go in and out ot those halls wlll appreciate the tact that the community of Salem has provided them with unusual physical equipment to facilitate ceive 1S in the service that each student may now and in the future give to Salem Mr Gaiser s wish is being realized tor this first and highly successful year in the new school signifies that the students do deeply appreciate the magnificent school that has been given them by the community ,i ADMINISTRATIQN t LJ I I u I ' 1 ' 4 I I I I - ' S . , , . . . , .
