Tlmmax Goadenaugli Coodenaugli Parker Gibson Officers ln spite of the near empty treasury which confronted the new president this year Bill Thomas proved himself exceptionally capable in this emergency. Due to his efforts assemblies were notice- ably quieter and more interest in school activities was shown. Bill is exceptionally talented along the line of public speaking and has contributed much to the success of the debate teams during his three years in high school. Maxine Goodcnough, vice president, was responsible for the three student body dances, Viking Revue, and the basket social which were very original and amusing. Important records of our school activities were written for posterity by our secretary Eileen Goodenough, She has many good qualities, but the one which is most outstanding is her willingness to cooperate with the faculty and students. Sergeant-at-arms V ietor Gibson showed much enthusiasm throughout the year at council meetings and other activities, has contributed many clever ideas for social functions and money-making propositions and has given valuable aid concerning hnancial problems. Songs at assemblies, basketball games, and football games were effectively lead by Lou Hickman, Although wee in stature, Orval Cooley has a powerful voice which can be heard throughout assemblies and grandstands. Orval has added much to the pep and school spirit of Salem Hi and has been suspected of causing an increase in attendance at games. The Salem High School bonfire previous to the Eugene-Salem game was noted for being the largest one yet and we have Orval to thank for this, Bill Parker, forensic manager, having charge of the reorganization of the minute men, song and yell contest, and other class rivalries has executed his many duties in an efficient manner, Although Bill entered school this year as a senior, he rapidly gained recognition by the student body as a concientious, dependable, and hard-working person. llt i rlecn
