MR. HAROLD BOOKHOUT In addition to his teaching respon- sibilities, Mr. Harold Bookhout also serves as the assistant principal of S.C.H.S. Mr. Bookhout is able to per- form well in this capacity since he has had a great deal of experience in teach- ing and in administration. A native of Salem, Mr. Bookhout taught at Junior High School for eleven years, at Salem Community High School for two years, and was Assistant County Superintendent of Schools for two years. This past November Mr. Bookhout was elected the County Superintendent of Schools. The result of the election was a definite proof of his abilities in administration. 9

To The Seniors Of Nineteen Hundred Sixty-Seven: It has been a genuine pleasure to have worked with you for the past several years. You are a splendid group. We hope and believe that this class of 203, has many great opportunities awaiting you. Never in our history has there been such a great need for well trained people, and never have so many scholarships been available for those of you who rank high in your class. There is an important place for each of you whose training is sound and for each of you who has the earnest desire to make good. I am very grateful that I have been privileged to work with you and tiiat over 70% of you are making plans to go on to college. These are the times that try men's souls.
