Senior Class History By Norma Morton In January, 1929, a group of determined Freshmen began their four-year pursuit of knowledge. They knew that their mistakes would be laughed at and that they would be called green Freshmen, but they consoled themselves with the thought that those upper classmen were once Freshmen too. In time, they could have their fun with other Freshmen. They had entered high school with a purpose in mind, they had placed a goal before them-they could already see them- selves as dignified Seniors receiving their diplomas. They had been told that high school work was diliicult but they mastered the strange and difficult tasks before them and emerged victorious in June. ln September, they were glad to welcome some companions, those who were to make up the June class of '33 to fill their places. The more able students pushed on, met and mastered still more difficult subjects. Proud were they when they called themselves Juniors. Their goal now showed plainly in the distance, but some of their classmates separated here for various reasons. These dropped out of the line that pressed onward. January, 1932, started this group out as Seniors-the last lap of their journey. January, 1933, they reached their goal and realized their ambitions to be the recipient of a high school diploma.
