C51 MISSION CSi Department is over 120 personnel strong, responsible for all of SAIPAN's Combat Systems, InteriorfExterior Communication Systems and associated maintenance organizations. These personnel and systems provide the Amphibious Commander and Embarked Marine Expedition- ary Unit the capability to plan and execute a multitude of missions in support of national objectives. There is not one area of operation on the ship that is not supported by this department in one fashion or another. Their mission is to provide liaison between SAIPAN and the embarked Landing Force. Combat Cargo is augmented with 44 Marines from the Landing Force to assist with passenger, vehicle, and cargo loading and offloading and for the coordination, staging, and movement of all cargo during the deployment. While in port, Combat Cargo utilizes the opportunity to plan and supervise habit- ability upgrades to Landing Force spaces?
