he Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department lAlMDl is made up of four separate divisions. Each specializes in certain elements of embarked craft maintainence. AIMD personnel perform the seemingly unending job of assisting the embarked squadrons in their missions by keeping the aircraft aloft. IMO1 is the administrative division of AIMD. Matieral Control and Production Control make up the major portion of IMO1. Matieral Control, a mini-supply department, controls money for parts. Production Control keeps a watchful eye on progress within the department, logging manhours spent on the repair and maintenance of equipment. IMO consists of the Helo shop, where engines are professionally overhauled and made ready for issue, the Hydraulics Shop, where all hydraulic components are sent for repairs, and the Metal Shop, where the repair of metallic and non-metallic aircraft structural parts takes place. IMO3 is avionics repair division for embarked aircraft, where repair of complex electrical components is a daily routine.
