Tours subsidized by the ship gave every- one on board a chance to see the sights of ancient Rome and modern Italy. Tour groups saw Vatican City, the seat of the Roman Catholic Church, and marvelled at the sights of St. Peters Square. Ancient houses are intact, often with the residents still inside. Road blocks are still up to keep the Chariots out of the ancient market places. The volcanic ash froze and preserved Pompeii just as she stood, two thousand years ago. The empty streets of Pompeii xg- sf A -ig' L' 577 -afie' - .--gin I , aaszf ,. T 0 I , --uk Aggrlljkg .
